The Thompson School District announced Friday that Jaymie Cruickshank has been named principal of Thompson Valley High School effective July 1.
She will fill the position that was vacated by Lanny Hass, who has departed the district, according to a news release.
Cruickshank has been interim principal since last month.
She has worked in the Thompson district for her entire education career, starting as a teacher at Walt Clark Middle School in 1997.
She joined the TVHS staff as an assistant principal in 2012.
“I am so excited to be offered this opportunity,” Cruickshank said in the release. “It’s not often that a chance like this comes along to work with the people you love, in a beautiful community, with students who fill your heart.”
She has a bachelor of science degree from Colorado State University and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Grand Canyon University. She is currently working on a doctoral degree in organizational leadership and instruction methods from Grand Canyon University.
